Make a Memory!

This post is particularly for the extended Thomas side of our family because...

This year for Christmas we all agreed that since money was tight we would do something unique instead of exchanging gifts we would each make a new memory within our own immediate families and then share the story of our memory. So here is our story to share...

A few weeks ago our ward challenged us to make a few extra plates of goodies for our neighbors that are not lds and share with them along with the goodies either a simple "Joy to the World" pass along card or something else sharing about Christ and our testimony of the gospel. We did three different plates, each with a pass along card and we walked out as a family today and left them on 3 different doorsteps of our neighbors. We were a bit nervous as is anyone when sharing the gospel. We decided to ding dong ditch and leave the plates anonymously just because...well we were a little nervous...and it was just funner that way. It was so great, exhilarating and great! It's probably a good thing that 2 out of the 3 saw us anyway...ya know..just in case they'd like to talk to us some more later ;) ;) wink wink. It felt good to make a memory that was all about the reason for the season. We had fun baking the goodies even with our kids and including them in the delivery as well.
Thanks so much Thomas side of our family (Bill and Danae) for coming up with this idea. We truly enjoyed it and we hope you like our story we've shared.
Merry Christmas Eve!!!
